KS3 English (Beginner):
Bridging the transition between the KS2 & 3 curriculums, these groups are primarily aimed at students who would be in school year 7.
Students receive a small-group live lesson once per week, and an additional pre recorded lesson to be completed flexibly around your schedule. Work can then be submitted for marking and feedback.
The aim of the class is to build confidence, skills and enjoyment in the subject.
We base lessons around a different class text each half term and use this as a stimulus for reading and writing activities. Texts include: Wonder, Skellig, Outlaw, Northern Lights, Private Peaceful and Holes.
KS3 English:
With a strong focus on developing skills, knowledge and understanding of the subject, these classes aim to embed Language and Literature skills through fun and engaging units.
Students receive one small-group live lesson per week, and two additional pre recorded lessons to be completed flexibly around your schedule. Work can then be submitted for marking and feedback.
Each half term we study a different text or theme and use this as a stimulus for reading and writing activities. Units include Sherlock Holmes, Gothic, Theme Parks, Dystopian Fiction and Modern Novels.
Groups are welcoming, friendly and low pressure - cameras and mics are optional, and students can be involved as much or as little as they feel comfortable with.
IGCSE English Language (Edexcel Spec A):
Designed to work as a two-year course, the sessions cover the whole Edexcel IGCSE English Spec A syllabus, exploring the assessment objectives, questions and exam technique in detail to ensure that students feel fully prepared to sit their exam. With regular marking and feedback, plus mock exam opportunities, students can track their strengths and areas for development to monitor their progress as they work their way through the course. Students have one live, and two pre recorded sessions per week.
This course has an anthology of texts which students study in preparation for their exam and has two exams (Paper 1 and Paper 2)
IGCSE English Language (Edexcel Spec B):
This is a one year course which covers the Edexcel IGCSE English Language Spec B syllabus.
Students will receive one live lesson per week, plus homework tasks. Work can be submitted weekly for marking and feedback and there are regular mock exam opportunities.
The course has one three-hour exam.
IGCSE English Literature:
This two year course explores a range of texts, deepening analysis and building academic writing skills in the process. The course is an optional GCSE which complements the English Language course as there is a cross-over of skills.
During the course students will study: Macbeth, Of Mice and Men, An Inspector Calls, and the exam board's Poetry Anthology.
Students receive one live lesson and two pre recorded lessons per week. Work can be submitted weekly for marking and feedback and there will be mock exam opportunities throughout the course.

Students will have a regular daytime or evening slot and will work on specific areas for development in order to quickly and effectively improve core reading, writing or exam skills.
Sessions can be as a top-up to school work or Home Ed classes, or can form a students entire English education. A flexible and individualised approach is taken to ensure sustained progress in skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence.

The popular GCSE English Language and Literature ‘Night Before’ revision sessions provide an opportunity for students to revise key areas of plot, character, themes and quotations for their set texts with a qualified English Teacher and GCSE examiner to ensure they feel fully prepared and confident when entering their exam. Sessions finish with a look at planning a response for an example exam question, and a Q&A session!

Pre recorded sessions!
In response to feedback from previous cohorts, this year pre recorded versions of the sessions will be available.
These sessions over flexible, self-paced revision with activities throughout the lesson.
These sessions are aimed to benefit students who:
* Are unavailable at the time of the live session
* Are following a different schedule of texts. (Different exam boards having the texts on different papers - the sessions follow the AQA schedule)
* Want the option of self-paced revision, with the option to break the session down into shorter sections over a longer period of time
Exam marking is available upon request for all exam boards.
You will receive a past exam paper to complete, which will then be marked with detailed feedback of areas of strength and feedback of key areas for improvement. A current mark and grade will also be provided.
