Our Story
Welcome to 'My English Tutor'!
I'm Rachel, a Qualified English Teacher and Examiner with over 15 years classroom experience teaching KS3- A Level.

In 2021, I left the classroom to start tutoring and I have never looked back! The school system frustrated me with its narrow curriculums, prescriptive teaching and endless policies. I now get to focus on the things that matter when teaching: ensuring that students enjoy their learning experience, and achieve in the subject - I am passionate about English and want to encourage students to build confidence and a love for the subject to enable them to reach their full potential.
'My English Tutor' provides weekly online English Classes for Home Educated Students, 1:2:1 sessions and GCSE revision masterclasses. Being an experienced Examiner for GCSE English Language & Literature, and IGCSE English Language also provides an invaluable insight into the exams, which can then be passed on to students.

When I'm not teaching, I love being outdoors: running, hiking and walking my two dogs.
